Robert Bennett, chief executive officer of the Franklin International Institute, has been appointed by Gov. Norm Bangerter to a group of corporate leaders from various parts of the country who he hopes will directly influence education policy and lead to a better-prepared work force.
The Education Commission of the State's Business Partnership is co-directed by Jack A. MacAllister, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of US WEST Inc., and Minnesota Gov. Rudy Perpich."I'm honored and delighted with this assignment. In my view, there is no more serious challenge facing American business than the quality of our nation's education system. It will be exciting to be a part of an effort aimed at making fundamental changes," said Bennett.
