Women who "weren't born yesterday" can celebrate Older Americans Month May 9 with a Senior Class Fashion Show at the Cottonwood Mall. The show begins with a continental breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by the fashion show at 10 a.m. and is sponsored by the Division of Aging and Adult Services.

"To my knowledge, this is the first time a fashion show has been geared to the more mature woman," said Bonnie Athas, division program coordinator. "The image of the older woman in orthopedic shoes, support hose and the standard housedress is vanishing. Our models are all in their 60s, 70s and 80s with different figures and interests who are active, creative and still very much contributing to our communities. Nowadays women are traveling, playing golf and staying active into their 80s. Today's mature woman has style and substance."The show will feature fashions by J.C. Penney with door prizes, shopping discount coupons, cosmetic

makeovers, demonstrations and free samples.
