The University of Maryland must be impressed by Richard Dysart's portrayal of an attorney on "L.A. Law" because he was invited to speak at the university's law school during the weekend.

Dysart, who portrays wise old Leland McKenzie on the NBC series, drew about 50 people for his speech, "Illusion and Reality in the Practice of Law."The illusion of his show is an enticing one, Dysart said. "One cannot discount the fact that the enormous nationwide surge of interest in attending law school may derive from `L.A. Law' and the fascination with a profession that seems to offer such rich opportunities for sexual - as well as financial - fulfillment," he said.
