A minor earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale was measured Monday in extreme southwestern Utah, University of Utah Seismograph Stations officials said.
The quake was reported at 12:35 p.m., said Sue Nava, senior staff seismologist. Its epicenter was 13 miles west of St. George."This earthquake was in a relatively isolated, relatively remote area and has not been reported felt," Nava said.
The temblor was the strongest in the Beaver Dam Mountains area since a magnitude 3.9 quake on Aug. 21, 1988.
