Four people who were injured two critically - in a spectacular five-car crashonI-15 in Davis County remained in local hospitals Friday evening.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper James Matthies said the chain reaction began about 7:40 p.m. Thursday when a Corvette southbound near Glover Lane in Centerville hit a 1982 Oldsmobile, which ejected its passenger, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a Dodge. The Dodge then struck a Volkswagen. The Corvette struck a 1987 Oldsmobile head on.Dong H. Le, 22, Ogden, who was driving the Corvette, suffered a broken neck and was in intensive care in LDS Hospital. Le's passenger, Hai P. Le, age unavailable, Ogden, was also in critical condition in LDS Hospital.

Heather Coleman, 18, Layton, driver of the 1982 Olds, suffered a broken spine and was in good condition in Lakeview Hospital.

The driver of the Dodge, David Barton, 48, Fruit Heights, was treated at Lakeview then released.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Glen McBeth, 44, Salt Lake City, was not injured. His wife, Bonnie, 48, and their daughter, Megan, 12, were treated at Lakeview Hospital then released.

Harvey Buchanan, 43, Farmington, the driver of the 1987 Oldsmobile, was taken to Lakeview Hospital then to University Hospital, where he underwent surgery Friday for two broken ankles.
