Some 700 members and delegates from the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America were joined by hundreds of Utah Lutherans in a colorful procession from the Salt Lake Hilton to the Salt Palace Assembly Hall Sunday morning. A closing worship celebration there, featuring Bishop Wayne Weissenbuehler, ended the group's annual three-day conference in Salt Lake City. The church was formed in 1988 when three Lutheran denominations merged.
