Angered by the arrest of a Jewish settler suspected of killing a Palestinian teenager, several Cabinet ministers demanded that the government ease laws on opening fire on Arab rock-throwers.

But Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin told the Cabinet at its weekly Sunday meeting that the rules on firing in self-defense were determined by the law and could not be changed.Chaim Ben-Lulu, 50, was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of fatally shooting Nader Da'na, 14, when Ben-Lulu's car was stoned in the West Bank town of Hebron, state-run Israel Radio reported.
