The Women, Infant and Children program in Davis County is accepting new clients through its office in the county or through the state signup program. WIC targets low-income pregnant women, nursing mothers and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk.
WIC enables low-income families to provide their children with nutritious food they would otherwise be unable to afford. Statewide, WIC is budgeted to handle 45,000 clients but is serving 42,500.The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the state's Division of Family Health Services and the state and county health departments.
