On the eve of the HCAC championships in Provo, BYU's women's tennis team notched its twentieth victory of the year by crushing the University of New Mexico 8-1, Wednesday.
The 12th-ranked Cougars are now 20-9 on the season and UNM is 14-12. BYU swept all singles matches in straight sets from the Lobos, who were weakened by the absence of their injured No. 1 player Chris Hoffee.At No. 2 singles, Michelle Taylor dusted off Jennifer Toomy 6-1, 6-2 in forty-five minutes, while Mary Beth Young at No. 1 and Susanna Lee at No. 3 also used less than an hour to nail down their victories.
