University Mall patrons will now find it easier to get mass transit route and schedule information because of a new customer service center.
The center, located just inside the northeast entrance of the mall, will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on regular shopping days. The grand opening of the service will be held April 27 and 28. The Utah Transit Authority will pass out free balloons, coloring books and 50-cent passes good for a one-way trip anywhere in the Provo/Orem area.UTA's Timpanogos Division, serving Provo and Orem, began operating in January 1985, following a voter referendum. Provo/Orem ridership has increased steadily since that time, making it the fastest-growing ridership area in UTA's 1,800-square-mile service district. More than 525,000 passengers have boarded UTA buses in Provo and Orem so far this year, up 23 percent from the same period during 1988.
