Cyprus High students get a close look at the Coast Guard's newest helicopter, the HU-65 Dolphin, performing its search-and-rescue function of hoisting a man from an imaginary ocean. The French-built, short-range aircraft has been around four or five years now and still has some engine problems but works fairly well for both law enforcement and search and rescue, said the crewmen from San Diego who showed it off Monday. Salt Lake-based recruiters said the chopper's visit should help them attract more young Utahns into the Coast Guard. The copter will be in Utah all week, making other school visits and being used Friday to help train Coast Guard Auxiliary, state and county search and rescue officials.
