A Salt Lake County woman averted a rape when she bit her attacker on the chest and demanded he leave her home.

According to a Salt Lake sheriff's office report, the woman, 57, was watching television in her bedroom in the area of Eighth East and 82nd South. A man broke in a basement window of the home, went upstairs and attempted to rape her.As the assailant attempted to restrain the woman on her bed, she bit him. He then chased her into the kitchen where the woman opened a sliding glass door and demanded he leave. He did.

A Salt Lake County man, 27, was later arrested by Sandy police and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail in connection with the attempted rape. Clothing matching the description the woman gave police was found in the man's car.
