The Beatles' 1956 psychedelic Bentley S-1 will be auctioned off at Christie's East in New York City. The rainbow-colored car with purple leather seats, a shocking pink rug, and purple and green paisley curtains is expected to bring up to $1 million in an auction of sports figures' and rock 'n' rollers' memorabilia on June 21. Although Apple Corp. bought the car in 1968 for use of the entire band, John Lennon used it most often and helped design its decoration. Other items on sale include two Beatles' suits from "A Hard Day's Night," Elvis Presley's gun permit (with photo), tour jackets and gold records.
