Research Industries Corp., a Salt Lake-based company developing and manufacturing disposable medical products, had $181,508 in earnings or four cents per share in the quarter ending March 31, a 41 percent increase over the same period a year ago, according to Gary Crocker, president.

Earnings for the nine months ending March 31 were $482,578 or 10 cents per share, compared to $377,372 in earnings or eight cents per share in the same period a year ago.Crocker said the earnings improvement in the quarter were reflected by increases in healthcare products sales to $1.7 million, a 35 percent increase in the same quarter a year ago.

The company also has a 75 percent increase in sales of the company's cardiovascular specialty products and nerve repair devices.

Third-quarter revenue reached $1.9 million, higher than the $1.5 million of a year ago and total revenue in the past nine months reached $5.3 million, up from $4.3 million last year.
