A Mexican national charged with possession with intent to distribute nearly 31 pounds of cocaine will stand trial June 29, Utah federal Judge Bruce Jenkins has ordered.

Juan Fabela-Garcia, 28, Los Angeles, was arrested April 27 for a traffic violation on I-70 in central Utah. A magistrate last week ordered him held in the Salt Lake County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.Drug Enforcement Administration agents said they found 30.8 pounds of cocaine and $18,855 in cash in the vehicle.

A federal grand jury indicted Fabela-Garcia on single counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of 9 grams of the narcotic found on the suspect.
