The Taco Maker Inc., the Ogden-based Mexican fast-food franchise company, has opened an outlet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with Nasser Al-Shubaili as the owner.

Al-Shubaili attended the company's 30-day training session last August. He enjoyed eating Mexican food while attending college in the United States and wanted to be the first to introduce Mexican fast food in his country. He said the store opening was successful as Saudi and Western residents living and working in that country were receptive to the food.

Gil Craig, president and chief executive officer of The Taco Maker, said the international market offers an excellent opportunity for the company to expand. "We have implemented an aggressive and comprehensive sales campaign through the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia and the Far East," he said.
