Brigham Young University's music faculty will conduct a weeklong workshop, known as Young Musicians' Summerfest, July 17-22 on the BYU campus.
Participants in band, orchestra, jazz, choir and keyboard programs will take part in a festive week of chamber music, rehearsals, music literature classes, private or group instruction, workshops on careers in music, and social activities. A final concert will cap the week's events.A registration fee of $125 is required, and an additional $97 if housing and food are needed. Some participants will qualify for "exceptional talent partial tuition wavers" of $25 or $50.
The workshop is open to all participants who qualify and who will maintain university standards while on campus.
Those interested should send an audition tape containing two contrasting solo performances and a letter of recommendation from a music teacher, along with a completed registration form.
