The Cathedral Church of St. Mark will dedicate its recently remodeled undercroft and parish hall during a special service on the Feast of St. Mark at 7:30 p.m. April 25.

The Right Rev. George E. Bates, Bishop of Utah, will dedicate the new facilities. A tour of the newly remodeled areas and reception will follow the service. The cathedral is located at 231 E. First South.Construction has taken approximately one year. The renovation is the result of a five-year project by the cathedral parish.

A feasibility study was begun in 1984 and a general new-building fund drive was initiated two years ago to meet the projected $600,000 budget. The diocese contributed an additional $250,000 to cover the costs of repairing and reinforcing the building's 120-year-old foundation.

The refurbishing included upgrading church school classrooms, bride's room, youth room, choir room, restrooms, kitchen and meeting space. Inside the cathedral proper, the walls were repainted, new lighting installed and structural work completed.
