Two men accused of slaying a West Valley woman during the robbery of a video store in April face a preliminary hearing next month in 3rd Circuit Court.
Charles Kenneth Hodges, 44, appeared Tuesday before Circuit Judge Sheila McCleve, who ordered a June 2 hearing before Circuit Judge Paul Grant. The hearing is to determine whether enough probable cause exists to send Hodges to trial in 3rd District Court.Hodges is charged with capital homicide and aggravated robbery in the death of Anna Holmes, who was shot in the head during a robbery at Video Voyager, 5448 S. 4220 West, on April 22.
His attorney, public defender Andy Valdez, told McCleve that Hodges is anxious to have the case resolved. "He is desirous of not prolonging it. He wants it to proceed."
A second defendant, Raymond Darl Young, 34, was unable to appear because of medical problems. Young is charged with second-degree murder and obstructing justice.
