Jim Short, principal of Cyprus High School in Magna, was named principal of Granite District's new Hunter High School Tuesday. The new high school, now under construction, is expected to open for the 1990-91 school year. Short will oversee the completion of construction and preparation of the school for its opening.

Accepting the assignment Tuesday, Short said, tongue in cheek, that he expects his greatest challenge to be "choosing the school colors."Bill Christopulos, who has been district personnel director, will become the new principal at Cyprus.

Jim Henderson was named new director of testing and Chapter 1 programs. He succeeds Dianne Hesleph, who was given a new assignment as director of high school programs.

Bob Roberts, who is returning from a leave of absence, was named principal of Monroe Elementary, succeeding Claudia Seeley, who was in turn granted a leave of absence. Vicky Burkinshaw was named acting principal at Taylorsville and Ellen Williams acting assistant principal at Fox Hills Elementary. Jim Gatherum was named a buyer in purchasing after being director of school foods services.
