Utah Medical Products Inc., a Salt Lake-based manufacturer of medical products for hospitals, reported a 61 percent rise in first quarter income.
The first period of 1989 also marked the company's listing on the national over-the-counter market NASDAQ and introduction of a new product used in prenatal care.Net income for the first quarter was $409,201, or 5 cents a share, on revenues of $3.77 million, compared to $254,284, or 3 cents a share, on revenues of $2.49 million for the same period in 1988.
Chief executive officer Dr. Wm. Dean Wallace said the company was listed by NASDAQ under the symbol UTMD on March 21. And, on April 2 Utah Medical Products introduced Intran II, which provides continuous intrauterine monitoring and amnioinfusion capability for accurate prenatal care.
