Rosy Bensen, her two children and their two friends got more than they expected Tuesday while standing in line for a tour of the White House.

To the surprise of the Bensen and Hupp families, who were visiting the White House on a spring vacation trip to the capital, they were pulled out of line by President Bush, who took them to the South Lawn to see springer spaniel Millie and her six young puppies. The six puppies were in a pen on the South Lawn as Bush returned to the White House from a speech to a labor group. Rather than walking back to the Oval Office, as he would normally do, he detoured to the tour line and emerged moments later with Bensen, her two children, Michael, 11, and Julia, 8, and friends Danny Hupp, 12, and Katie Hupp, 9, all of Newcastle, Maine.
