A Salt Lake man who had earlier been charged with attempted homicide has now been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a Provo man.

Mark Deron Harrison, 19, is accused of shooting Grant Glover, 22, in the right eye during an altercation April 9 outside a restaurant at 177 E. Second South. Harrison died at LDS Hospital April 14 as a direct result of injury caused by the gunshot, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday in 3rd Circuit Court. The complaint was amended from an earlier charge of attempted criminal homicide. It says witnesses claim Harrison fired the fatal shot at Glover, "who was less than 10 feet from him at the time."
