A man wanted for questioning in the dismemberment slaying of an Avenues man has been extradited from Las Vegas to Utah, where he is charged with falsely filing for a Social Security card.

Eugene Bennett, 51, was being held in the Salt Lake County Jail, where he was questioned Monday by Salt Lake County sheriff's detectives in the slaying of Larry Duane White, 51, whose severed legs were found in a garbage container behind a grocery store Feb. 22.Detectives continue to seek Bennett's last address before he left town in hope of obtaining evidence. Bennett has used several aliases in the past dozen years and has lived in several states, police have said.
