Family ties proved wildly profitable for two clans who combined to win half of the record $69.9 million Illinois Lotto jackpot.
The two families, with members in four states, claimed their $17.5 million prizes Monday, while the holders of two other winning tickets had yet to be identified by state officials."We just couldn't believe it," said MaryAnn Dixon, 37, when she and her husband discovered after Saturday night's drawing that they were winners. "When we called everyone, no one would believe us. We had to keep repeating, like, `Hey, we're not kidding.' "
