About 200 communist guerrillas firing automatic weapons and grenade launchers attacked an army supply depot in the central Philippines Tuesday and killed six soldiers, the military reported.

The raiders also wounded 10 soldiers and captured two others during the 31/2-hour firefight in the town of Candoni in Negros Occidental province, about 350 miles southeast of Manila, an army spokesman said.Negros Island, the country's sugar bowl, is considered a stronghold of the communist New People's Army.
