Thirty-five Romanian refugees attempted to flee to Austria from Hungary by barricading themselves on the Orient Express, the official MTI news agency reported.

The 35, who had fled to Hungary, barricaded themselves in a first-class car on the train headed from Budapest to Vienna over the weekend. They refused to open the doors to border guards at the Hegyeshalom border station, MTI said. The car was uncoupled from the train and the refugees surrendered to border guards and police after lengthy negotiations, MTI said. The train proceeded to Vienna where it arrived with a one-hour delay.
