A Honduran man was killed and another seriously wounded when an explosive device they were carrying blew up near a U.S. Embassy-owned warehouse, and police investigated Monday whether the incident may have been a bombing attempt.

The two men were about 15 feet from the warehouse when the grenade-like device exploded Sunday night, police said. The warehouse, owned by the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, was not damaged in the explosion. It is located about a half-mile away from the main embassy building.
