Police continued their search Tuesday for a suspect in a Monday morning armed robbery at the U.S. Thrift & Loan, 218 N. West State Road.
Police Chief John Durrant said police are following up leads in the holdup, which netted an undisclosed amount of cash. He said the holdup may be linked to a similar armed robbery last month in Orem.According to police, a masked man in his late 40s or early 50s robbed two tellers after brandishing a revolver and demanding money.
The robber is about 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, police were told. He wore jeans, a military-style jacket, black gloves and a stocking mask, which witnesses said he removed after leaving the thrift and loan.
Durrant said police also are seeking a late model black Fork pickup truck that may have been used as a getaway vehicle.
