Clyde M. Braegger, a member of the Cache County Council who also served two terms as mayor of Providence, died Friday night. He was 67.

Mr. Braegger, who suffered a bout with polio at the age of 9 months and was unable to walk, also served as a member of the Cache County Historical Preservation Commission and earlier performed throughout the valley in a small dance orchestra he organized.He was service manager for J.K. Business Machines until 1987, when he retired. His wife Pat, who also has spent most of her life in a wheelchair because of polio, is a member of the Providence City Council.

"Clyde was a respected and capable individual who cared about people and was always fair," said Cache Democratic Party Chairman Herm Olsen.
