A "beautiful" brown-haired woman eluded law enforcement officials Wednesday after taking an undetermined amount of cash during a gas station robbery, deputy sheriffs said.

The woman approached the clerk at Maverick Gas Station, 514 W. 39th South, about 12:45 a.m. and demanded all of the money in the till. She told the clerk there was a man in her vehicle parked outside who was pointing a gun at him, according to a sheriff's office report.A witness pumping gas at the station stared at the woman as she left the store, backed out of the parking lot and fled. The witness told deputies he paid close attention to her because she was "very beautiful," but did not realize she had robbed the station until the clerk ran out and asked him if he had seen the license plate, the report said.

The witness apparently was not looking at the license plate.
