Floyd A. Petersen, partner-in-charge for the accounting firm of De-loitte Haskins and Sells, certified public accountants, is chairman of the Salt Lake United Way's 1989 fund-raising campaign.
He will direct the agency's fall fund drive, which raises money for 115 local health and human service programs."We are very pleased to have Floyd Petersen as part of our United Way effort," said Nancy L. Giles, United Way board chairman. "He has the talent and leadership to make this fund-raising campaign a great success."
The University of Utah graduate has been employed by Deloitte Has-kins and Sells for over 30 years. He has been a partner since 1973 and partner-in-charge since 1986. He is a member of the Utah Bar Securities Advisory Committee, a member of the Target Industries Study Committee of the Utah Economic Development Corporation, treasurer of the Alta Club and a member of the Salt Lake Rotary Club. He is also on the United Way board of directors.
Petersen will begin recruiting other volunteer leaders for the campaign immediately. Early "pacesetter" campaigns will begin in mid-July and the major campaign effort will start in September.
