Little Caesar's Pizza and the Salvation Army will provide an evening meal for the homeless April 19 at the site of a new meal program, 423 W. Third South.

The program has been in the planning phase for a long time, said Paul Hewitt, a member of the Ecumenical Soup Kitchen Committee, a group representing Protestant and LDS congregations coordinated by Wasatch Presbyterian Church. In the past, lunchtime meals have been offered, but no evening meals.Celebrity servers, government officials and media personalities have been invited to help on April 19. "The more attention the hunger problem draws from the public, the better chance we will have of finding a more permanent solution," said Lance Write, United Parcel Service marketing director.
