The University of Utah Graduate School of Business and College of Business have established a $50,000 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah Scholarship Fund to help students pursuing graduate work in health sciences administration.

Income generated from the principal will be used for an annual scholarship award, with a recipient chosen each year from three to five nominees.Awards will be made to students in the University's Master of Business Administration program with emphasis on health sciences administration. A selection committee is going to be established by Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Dr. Debra L. Scammon, U of U professor of marketing, said the scholarships give incentive to highly qualified MBAs to take a closer look at health care as a career path, not only for personal rewards but also in terms of social contributions.
