Four of Rick Warner's newest lines will be featured in the Salt Lake 500 New Car Sell-Off - Nissan, Volvo, Chrysler and Plymouth.

And what visitors to the show will see in the four models of cars they are surely to like. For example:

Chrysler offers these engineering developments: An industry-first electronic four-speed automatic transmission; a new vehicle theft security system; a new electronic memory power front seat; increased installation of air bags as standard equipment; the first 16-valve engine use for Chrysler; a new multi-point electronic fuel-injection turbo-charged 2.5-liter engine; and standard four-wheel disc brakes.

The new security system option is armed simply by touching the electric door lock switch when exiting the car. It does not require special key locking. It disarms by opening the door normally with a key. Another electronic option is the eight-way driver's power front seat with memory seat adjustment feature.

From an increased safety sandpoint, driver's side air bags and high performance four-wheel disc brakes are now standard on all LeBaron coupes and convertibles.

Nissan Motor Corporation has introduced two all-new cars and a comprehensive lineup of improved models that company officials are pointing to as proof of Nissan's aggressive new attitude.

The bigger Maxima with new, more aerodynamic bodyshell is available, as is an all-new sports car, the 240SX. The 240SX is a rear-wheel-drive sports car with a sophisticated multi-link rear suspension and all-new engine.

Inside the 240SX is a 2.4-liter, 12-valve powerplant. It also has computer-designed, multi-link rear suspension for a high level of stability and control without sacrificing ride comfort.

Nissan's Pathfinder, an award-winning sport utility vehicle that hauls luxury and style into the back country, will be available in two-wheel drive along with the traditional 4x4 powertrain.

Plymouth moves into the new year offering customers more than ever before . . . new engine choices, improved front suspensions, the introduction of an electronic four-speed automatic transaxle, and additional drive-line capability, are just a few.

The Sundance, recognized as a fun-to-drive affordable car for on-the-go consumers, is available with a new 2.5-liter turbocharged engine.

Plymouth continues its leadership role in the minivan market by introducing the 2.5-liter engine as optional in the Voyager and Grand Voyager.

And Volvo. For 1989, Volvo has carried forward the best of its model line and, where appropriate seized the opportunity to make a fine product even better. Entry level Volvo continues to be the 240 Series and wagon. The 740 model line is where Volvo has the big news. A new model 740 GL has been added.
