The Census Bureau will collect data on employment and unemployment from area residents the week of April 16-22, according to William F. Adams, director of the bureau's Denver regional office.
The local data will contribute to January's national labor force picture to be released May 5 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The data for January 1989 showed a national civilian unemployment rate of 5.4 percent. This means that 6.7 million workers out of a labor force of 123.4 million did not have jobs.Information supplied by individuals to the Census Bureau is kept confidential by law.
