An Orem man who was acquitted of a California murder charge, then arrested in Orem on a warrant from the same state, has been freed on bail pending an extradition hearing.

Robert N. Goode, 29, was arrested by Orem police last week after a warrant was issued in Glendale, Calif., charging him with one count of grand theft and two counts of conspiracy, all felony offenses.Goode posted $2,500 bail Friday and was released from the Utah County Jail, and a 4th Circuit Court clerk said he was scheduled to appear for the extradition hearing on May 5.

Goode was acquitted in January of a murder-for-hire charge in the death of Glendale businessman Frank Fitzpatrick, who was shot five times behind his business on Jan. 13, 1986.

Goode spent 30 months in a Los Angeles jail while awaiting his trial on the murder charge and returned to Orem after his acquittal.
