Grace Jones, the flamboyant singer and film actress, was freed from jail Tuesday in Kingston, Jamaica, after a court granted her bail on a charge of possessing cocaine. Magistrate Carol Lawrence-Beswick freed the Jamaica-born Jones on $2,700 bail on condition she returns for trial June 6. Jones, 37, who became a movie star in the James Bond film "A View to a Kill," was not asked to enter a plea. Her lawyer said the entertainer is not a drug user, and is involved in the campaign against drug abuse.
