Robert R. Walker, president of Intermountain Health Care Affiliated Services, has been elected chairman of
AmeriNet, a large health care group purchasing organization. He will serve in that post during 1989.AmeriNet was formed in 1986 by IHC Affiliated Services and three other health care systems. About 2,500 health care facilities with more than 280,000 beds purchase supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, food and services through Ameri-Net.
IHC Affiliated Services is part of the Salt Lake-based IHC, the not-for-profit health care company serving people in Utah, southeastern Idaho and western Wyoming. As president of IHC Affiliated Services, Walker is responsible for managing IHC's role in AmeriNet and marketing shared services to non-IHC hospitals and other health care institutions.
