The visitors center at Kennecott Utah Copper's Bingham Canyon mine will be open to visitors beginning April 15 and remain open until October, but there is a charge, company officials said.

Admission fees, which will be donated to non-profit organizations, are motorcycles, $1; passenger vehicles, $2; and tour buses, $20. The center is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk and features memorabilia and a verbal history and description of the mine in English, Spanish, German or Japanese.Visitors can see blasting that loosens the rock, loading the rock by giant electric shovels onto trucks and the trucks taking the ore to an in-pit crusher and then transporting the ore out of the pit on a large conveyor belt.
