A fire that started from a kitchen stove caused between $10,000 and $15,000 damage to an apartment Wednesday night, officials said.
Murray Fire Capt. Keith Hall said residents at 309 E. 45th South inadvertently left the stove on when electricity in their apartment went out. When the power was restored, the stove became hot and started a fire at about 5:30 p.m.The fire was confined to the kitchen area and caused mostly smoke damage, he said. No one was injured in the blaze.
