Shelley Thomas, the evening news anchorwoman for KSL-TV, will be anchoring a fashion show Saturday.
The show will be the Utah Girls Village 12th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show, starting at noon at the Grand Ballroom of Little America Hotel.Since the mid-1970s, Girls Village has been operating homes for troubled youth. While originally for girls, its program is gender indifferent, and now boys are being helped with the special therapy called "Teaching Family Model." This therapy, pioneered by Father Flannigan's Boys Town, successfully changes the behavior of teenage youth in a group home setting.
With the motto, "Help One Girl - Help Generations to Come," Girls Village teaches youth to understand and accept the consequences of their choices.
The fashion show is courtesy of ZCMI with Susan Collins, fasion coordinator and Faye Shifflett, event coordinator. Door prizes are being coordinated by Carol Edgmon and Heidi Crocheron and tickets by Dorothy Burton. Table decoration chairman is Phyllis Pardoe and music is by Ace Raymond.
