Gov. Norm Bangerter will be among officials participating in a tree planting project at 1:30 p.m. April 6 in the Utah State FairPark, 155 N. 10th West.

The governor will plant the park's first flowering cherry tree, in front of the Horticulture Building.Nearly 100 trees were donated by the Utah State Fair Foundation and First Security Bank of Utah, a "friend of the fair." Twenty flowering cherry trees will be planted at the southeast entrance of the Horticulture Building and around the driveway encircling the structure.
