Ricks College President Joe J. Christensen and Brigham Young University President Jeffrey R. Holland, who were named Saturday to the LDS First Quorum of the Seventy, will remain at their institutions for the time being.

J. Elliot Cameron, commissioner of education for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, confirmed on Wednesday that the executive committee of the Church Board of Education met Tuesday afternoon in Salt Lake City but has not taken action to name their replacements.The committee, which includes the church's First Presidency, said Elders Christensen and Holland will "continue in their responsibilities at their respective campuses for the time being."

Elder Christensen was appointed Ricks president on Aug. 13, 1985; Elder Holland has headed BYU since June 1980.
