Four Provo elementary pupils have been chosen as state finalists to compete in the Utah State Geography Bee April 7.

Robert Jackson, a sixth-grader from Canyon Crest Elementary; Autumn Eddy, a sixth-grader from Edge-mont Elementary; Ryan Williams, a fifth-grader from Provost Elementary; and Christopher DeMartini, a sixth-grader at Timpanogos Elementary, will compete in the contest sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The four students were selected among the top 100 students from Utah after participating in the National Geography Bee in January.

The contest, open to students in fourth through eighth grades, consisted of questions about geographic concepts, which students answered orally. School winners took a written test, which was scored at National Geographic's headquarters.

Those with the top test scores will participate in the April 7 meet at the Salt Lake Community College.
