Enrollments in Brigham Young University's Division of Continuing Education totaled more than 391,000 in 1987-88, according to the division's recently released annual report.

That number is equivalent to a full-time student enrollment of more than 20,000, an increase of nearly 1,500 from the previous year, according to Richard Eddy, dean of the Division of Continuing Education. As enrollment reached a record high, the division progressed in its mission to extend the academic services and unique spirit of the university beyond the confines of the campus, said Eddy.

Continuing education provides a variety of educational opportunities through evening classes, university extension programs, independent study, travel study, youth programs, conferences and workshops.
