Utah industrialist Jon Huntsman introduces Nityn Pibulsonggram, Thailand's ambassador to the United Nations, and Gov. Norm Bangerter to local news media and business leaders Friday. The ambassador was in Utah participating in a U.N. program to have its ambassadors visit various cities in the United States. Bangerter noted that Thailand is Utah's second biggest trading partner, importing $96.9 million in Utah goods _ primarily electronic equipment _ in 1988. Huntsman Chemical Corp., which played host to a luncheon and the press conference, operates two plastics plants in Thailand. Pibulsonggram arrived Thursday and has been feted by officials from Utah Power & Light Co., Huntsman Chemical and the state. He also met with Elder M. Russell Ballard of the LDS Church's Quorum of Twelve Apostles and plans to spend the weekend at Deer Valley.
