A Southern California man was fined $300 and ordered to forfeit 110 pounds of a chemical used to manufacture methamphetamine, Iron County Attorney Scott Burns said Friday.

Richard Anthony Sanchez, 34, Norwalk, Calif., was sentenced to one year in jail and fined $2,500. But 5th District Judge Philip Eves then reduced the sentence to one-year probation and cut the fine to $300."We didn't think he needed 110 pounds of decongestant," said Burns, who estimated the 110 pounds of ephedrine would make $3 million worth of methamphetamine.
