Hundreds of Brigham Young University students will participate in community service projects and other activities during "Y-Days" April 3-9.

Y-Days, which was revived last year after a 10-year absence, is a schoolwide effort to enhance school spirit and to give something back to the community. It is sponsored by the BYU Student Service Association.Activities include service projects, a fund-raiser, a lecture, dances and other recreational activities. Service projects scheduled April 8 include sprucing up city parks; cleaning the yards or painting the houses of elderly, widowed or needy individuals; and cleaning trash from streets and vacant lots.

Y-Days will conclude with a devotional April 9 with Elder Marion D. Hanks, a member of the presidency of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom. As part of the week's activities, LDS Church President Ezra Taft Benson will receive the Exemplary Manhood Award.
