The fourth annual Utah Hispanic Women's Awards Banquet and Conference will be held April 7-8.
Outstanding Hispanic Utahns will be honored at the banquet, which will begin at 6 p.m. April 7 at the Little America Hotel. The cost is $20 per person in advance. Gloria Romero, assistant professor in the San Diego University Department of Women's Studies, will speak.Workshops on career, employment and finances, health care and safety, and family and culture will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 8.
Additional workshops will be offered for Hispanic youths and professionals working with Hispanic youths. The $10 conference fee will include a luncheon, where Rebecca Gomez, of the U.S. Department of Labor, Women's Bureau, will speak.
In conjunction with the women's conference, a leadership seminar for Hispanic women will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 4 at the University of Utah Alumni House.
